Forgotten: The Untold Story of D-Day’s Black Heroes, at Home and at War / Linda Hervieux
It’s always a pleasure to contribute to a project of substance. Journalist and author Linda Hervieux’s book Forgotten:The Untold Story of D-Day’s Black Heroes, at Home and at War tells the story of the men of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, the only African-American unit to storm the beach on D-Day. We created the site for her, and suggested that she add a link on the homepage to help get gather signatures to grant the late Corporal Waverly Woodson, a medic on Omaha Beach, his long-overdue Medal of Honor. The book has gone on to great acclaim, and we’re happy that we helped tell the stories of these overlooked heroes. You can sign the petition here.
